The club was founded by two English expatriates, Herbert Kilpin and Alfred Edwards under the name Cricket Club and Milan football on December 16, 1899. At that time, Edward became the president of Milan's first club and Kilpin became the captain of Milan's first team.
In the 1901 season, Milan won its first championship as Italian soccer champions, after beating Genoa CFC 3-0 in the final of the Italian soccer championship. 1929/1949
