Sami Khedira, born on April 4, 1987. Khedira was born to Doris and Lazhar Khedira. Khedira's mother is German, while her father is a man from Hammamet, Tunisia.

Prior to joining the VfB Stuttgart youth team in 1995, he played on TV Oeffingen. In the first months of the 2006/07 season, he was called up to the Bundesliga VfB squad by manager Armin Veh. His debut occurred on 1 October 2006 against Hertha BSC, replacing Antonio da Silva in a match which ended in a 2-2 draw.

However, while still studying in Stuttgart, Khedira had a knee problem that threatened his career. Although it was not explained exactly what caused it, Khedira at that time really felt something painful in the knee area.

He then went to a rehabilitation center and hoped to find a miracle. After several treatments including surgery, his hopes to become a football star finally returned.

He returned to training and joined Stuttgart.

Khedira then signed his first professional contract at VfB on January 29, 2007. On July 9, 2008, he extended his contract until the summer of 2011. In the following season, Khedira managed to score 7 goals in 27 league matches.

Together with Stuttgart, Khedira managed to donate one Bundesliga title in the 2006/07 season. His talent, which was considered special, finally attracted the interest of the Spanish giants, Real Madrid.
