Biography of Gabriel Batistuta
Batistuta began his career in Argentina with local clubs such as Newell's Old Boys, River Plate and Boca Juniors. He then moved to an Italian club, Fiorentina. When FIorentina was relegated to Serie B, he persisted and brought Fiorentina back to Serie A. As a tribute to himself Fiorentina supporters made a statue of himself in front of the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence, Italy for his services to the club.
During his career at Fiorentina, Batistuta never won the Serie A title and only won the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana. But when he moved to the US Rome, Batistuta finally won the Serie A title in the Italian League in 2001. He briefly underwent a loan at Inter Milan. His last career was spent at the Al Arabi club Qatar.
Batistuta's career with the Argentine national team was marked by his appearances in three World Cups, the 1994 World Cup in the United States, 1998 in France, and 2002 in Japan and South Korea.
