Leroy Aziz Sane was born on January 11, 1996 in Essen, Germany. Sane was born to Soulymane Sane and Regina Weber. Sane's parents are migrants. His father who is from Senegal migrated to Germany for football reasons. His mother is from France, he settled in Germany after getting the chance to play gymnastics.

As a child of both parents who are former famous athletes, Sane seems to have outlined a success in the world of sports. His mother, is the only German female athlete ever to win an Olympic bronze medal in the rhythmic gymnastics branch. That happened in 1984.

While his father, is a former Senegalese international who became a mainstay of FC Nurnberg and SG Wattenscheid in pounding the opponent's goal in the 1980s. The striker who is usually called "Sammy" scored 51 goals in 174 appearances in Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2.

Even so, when playing in Germany, Sane's father often suffered racist abuse. Sane also has an older brother who works as a footballer, Kim. While his younger brother named Sidi, who has the same profession as him.

Three years later, or rather at the age of 11, Sane joined the Bayer Leverkusen academy, after three years studying at Leverkusen, Sane returned to the Schalke academy in 2011.

Not only at club level, Sane has also shown his teeth in international soccer arenas. Sane immediately scored the winning goal on his debut for Germany Under-19s when they beat the Netherlands on September 5, 2014 in Cologne. Together with the U19 national team Sane scored 8 goals in 11 matches.

In 2015 Sane made his debut with the U-21 Panzers team jersey, where he scored a total of 5 goals in 10 matches with the U-21 team.

On 13 December 2014, Sane scored his first goal in a 2-1 defeat at home to FC Koln. The name Leroy Sane began to be taken into account when the Essen-born player became the youngest player Schalke to score in the Champions League.

At that time, in March 2015, Sané scored in his first Champions League match in a 4–3 win over Real Madrid, even though his team was knocked out 5-4 on aggregate.

His first season with Schalke 04 was not very smooth, Sane often inhabited the bench, Sane only recorded 14 appearances and scored 4 goals throughout the 2014/15 season.

In his second season, Sane managed to score 9 goals in 42 matches in all competitions. His brilliant performance made Man City interested in bringing it.

At the end of the season, Sane had to undergo sinus surgery, after first discussing with City Manager Pep Guardiola and German national team coach Joachim Loew.

His neat appearance with the club made Sané receive his first call to the German national team on November 6, 2015. At the beginning of the 2018/19 season Sane again showed his sharpness, Sane helped City win various victories at the start of the season, he had broken the goal of Fulham, Burnley, Southampton and West Ham.
