Daniel Noel Drinkwater 's Life and Career Journey in Football "the important pillars of The Foxes who were able to win the English Premier League title for the first time."
Daniel Noel Drinkwater or more familiarly called Danny Drinkwater, was born on March 5, 1990. Drinkwater was born in Manchester, England. Since childhood, Drinkwater loved the game of football and Manchester United became the team he idolized at that time.
Because he really idolized the Red Devils team, Drinkwater finally chose to join the team's academy. Drinkwater joined Manchester United's academy at the age of nine. In his first season at the club Drinkwater became a regular on Manchester United's Under-18 Team, making 27 appearances and scoring two goals.
However, it was difficult for him to break into the first team. United coach at that time, Sir Alex Ferguson, did not really see anything special in Drinkwater.
Not getting many opportunities at Old Trafford, Drinkwater then spent a loan spell at Huddersfield Town in 2009. Drinkwater made his debut for his new club the following day, coming on as a substitute for Gary Roberts in a 3-1 home win against Southampton.
In the following season, Drinkwater is back on loan. This time, Cardiff City became a new port for him. Drinkwater's competitive debut for Cardiff comes two days after its inauguration period. He appeared in a match which ended in a 1-1 draw against Sheffield United.
Although the player's initial loan agreement was intended to stay at the club for the season, Manchester United withdrew Drinkwater from Cardiff on 25 January 2011. During his time at Cardiff, Drinkwater made 12 appearances, including nine in the Championship division.
But even though he was sent home to Old Traffod, Drinkwater was loaned back to another club. This time Drinkwater joined Watford on January 28, 2011 on loan until the end of the season.
Until precisely on 23 August 2011, Drinkwater joined Barnsley on loan until January 2, 2012, which was later extended to June 30, 2012.
After undergoing a number of loan periods, Drinkwater finally found its true team. That team is Leicester City. On 20 January 2012, Drinkwater joined Leicester City from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.
In his first year with The Foxes, Drinkwater was named the player of the month of December and was nominated for the best player in the Championship. Drinkwater went on to have a very successful year as a professional footballer. He was able to score seven goals and was included in the PFA Team of the Year along with teammates, Kasper Schmeichel and Wes Morgan.
On 17 June 2014, Drinkwater finally officially signed a new four-year contract with Leicester, having helped the Foxes succeed in promotion to the Premier League for the first time in ten years.
After continuing to play consistently, Drinkwater has become one of the important pillars of The Foxes who were able to win the English Premier League title for the first time.
Leicester's magical season saw Drinkwater in the middle along with N'Golo Kante and Marc Albrighton. In addition, names such as Riyadh Mahrez and Jamie Vardy have also strengthened Claudio Ranieri's team.
On 25 August 2016, Drinkwater again signed a new contract with Leicester. This time, the contract binds him until 2021 at King Power Stadium.
However, Drinkwater then moved to Chelsea. He followed his former teammate, N'Golo Kante, who had anchored earlier at Stamford Bridge. Due to injury problems, Drinkwater only started its first Premier League campaign for the Blues on November 25 against Liverpool at Anfield, where the teams drew 1-1.
On 30 December, he scored his first Chelsea goal, a volley, in a 5–0 win over Stoke City at home.
However, injury problems returned to make Drinkwater absent. The situation at Chelsea was made worse by the presence of Maurizio Sarri as the new coach. The Italian manager didn't give much of a chance, which made Drinkwater feel very frustrated.
In April 2019, Drinkwater experienced bad luck which made him worse off. He was arrested by the police after being involved in a car accident. According to reports circulating, the accident occurred in the early hours of the morning. The media said the car driven by the 29-year-old midfielder had hit another car.
The accident occurred after Drinkwater attended a charity event at a bar called Victors. Reportedly, the former Leicester City player is not alone but with a woman whose identity is unknown.
The accident itself is said to have made a lot of car debris scattered on the streets. Besides that, there was also a fence that collapsed.
Drinkwater was eventually found guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol. He also attended court and was given a 20 month driving ban.
Not only that, in September 2019, Drinkwater was seriously injured due to being beaten by thugs. He suffered severe injuries to his face and legs after receiving attacks from six thugs outside the nightclub, Chinawhite, Manchester. From witness testimony, Drinkwater was apparently caught teasing a woman. He insists on dating Kgosi Ntlhe's girlfriend, who is a player at Scunthorpe United club.
Because he didn't get many opportunities to play at Chelsea, Drinkwaer at that time decided to leave Burnley. The beating case that happened to Drinkwater allegedly caused the player to be sidelined for two weeks defending Burnley.
Now, Drinkwater is still a Burnley player. The contract remains until January 2020 before the loan period expires.
