10 Players Who did not Deserve The Red Devils Uniform

Former Chelsea player Chris Sutton has criticized Manchester United's players after being humiliated by Manchester City. He said there were 10 players who did not deserve the Red Devils uniform.

Manchester United travels to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City in the Premier League match, Sunday (6/3/2022). The Citizens won the match 4-1.

Kevin de Bruyne performed brilliantly by breaking into David de Gea's goal twice. Likewise with Riyad Mahrez. Unfortunately, MU was only able to reply through Jadon Sancho.

This defeat threatens the hopes of the Red Devils to finish in the top four this season. They are now down to fifth place with a collection of 47 points.

Roy Keane Angry
The defeat was unacceptable to Manchester United legend Roy Keane. He even claimed that there were six players who were no longer worthy of strengthening the Red Devils.

"I could list five or six players who I don't think should ever play for Man United again. It's a disgrace, a disgrace," Keane told Sky Sports.

"The substitutes come in and you expect them to make an impact but they're not ready to run around. A few players in midfield, Wan-Bissaka, Fred, Maguire, Rashford coming in, I can carry on.

"The old adage men vs boys. They give up and embarrass themselves."

Roy Keane Still Good
Chris Sutton thinks Roy Keane is still too good because he only says five or six players are no longer worthy of playing for Manchester United. Yet according to Sutton there are more players who need to be kicked out.

"I may be the first to say these words, but here goes: Roy Keane is nice," Sutton told the Daily Mail.

"He said 'five or six' should never play for Manchester United again. I will put it simply.

"United fans want to see their teams compete for the Premier League and Champions League. If we base the decision on who is good enough to make them an elite club again, then we could hit double figures in terms of who gets punished. Their performance at the Etihad was very good. embarrassing."

Then who are the players who are no longer worthy of defending Manchester United according to Sutton's assessment? Here are the names.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Is Wan-Bissaka a bad right-back? Not. But at a weekend where Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James and Kyle Walker showed all they are, Wan-Bissaka fell behind," Sutton wrote.

"The way Phil Foden beat him 15 yards and won possession was worrying."

Victor Lindelof

"As if letting Foden pass him wasn't bad enough, he then stood up and watched Kevin De Bruyne score instead of assisting again. It's just not the action of an elite defender," said Sutton.

Harry Maguire

"Instead of clearing the danger after Foden's shot was saved, Maguire let the ball run through his feet, not realizing Bernardo Silva charged in for the rebound," said Sutton.

"I'm surprised it wasn't highlighted more in the middle of the analysis of De Bruyne's second goal. Maguire's £80m move to United hasn't worked out. He's not the Virgil van Dijk they hoped for."

Alex Telles

"Finishing the back line was Telles, who pointed to De Bruyne when he scored City's opener," added Sutton.

"Full backs are very important if a team is to be successful today. Think Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson. Think Walker and Joao Cancelo. Telles is not on that list."

Fred

"I will let Fred go. He lacks discipline, wanders and is deadly. De Bruyne is haunted by him to make the party go on for City," said Sutton.

"It was a pivotal moment and one that Fred could and should have prevented, had he been alert for danger."

Marcus Rashford

"Reports have said he wants to leave. If that's the case, then go. If Rashford is looking for someone to blame for his declining United career then he has to look at himself," said Sutton.

"Ronaldo is out, Edinson Cavani is out but he didn't start against City. Ask yourself why."

Jesse Lingard

"Rangnick doesn't see him as more than a squad player," said Sutton.

"It's time for Lingard to cut ties and get his career back on track.

Cristiano Ronaldo

"An extraordinary player with an extraordinary ego. I questioned United's move for Ronaldo, worried that his presence would have a negative impact," said Sutton.

"I see this as more of a commercial signing than a tactical one. He's 37 now and it's time to leave."

Edinson Cavani

"Cavani is 35 years old and good at finding space to attack but I don't think he is the future," added Sutton.

"In the summer, United really had to look for someone who could lead them for the season to come."

Paul Pogba

"Pogba time in red is up. There are too many distractions and I don't think we can say it worked," said Sutton.

"He can go from a great player to a mediocre player. Too often we say he can do more, given the talent he has."
