Location of Real Madrid's Error, Cause of Losing from Barcelona

Real Madrid appeared without Karim Benzema when they met Barcelona in the 29th match of La Liga. Not strengthened by Benzema, Madrid did not move and was defeated by Barca.

Real Madrid received a visit from Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu, Monday (21/3/2022) early morning WIB. Undergoing the El Clasico match at home, Los Blancos were defeated by a landslide score of 0-4.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang became the star of Barcelona's victory by scoring two goals. Meanwhile, the remaining two goals were contributed by Ronald Araujo and Ferran Torres.

The defeat did not change Real Madrid's position at the top of the La Liga standings. Los Blancos have 66 points from 29 matches, and are 12 points ahead of Barcelona in third.

In that match, Real Madrid could not play Karim Benzema. The French bomber was not fit enough to appear in the El Clasico match.

Not because of the absence of Karim Benzema

Without the presence of Benzema on the front lines, Los Blancos looked difficult to score goals. However, Ancelotti did not want to make the absence of Karim Benzema a scapegoat for Real Madrid's defeat.

"We must not think that we lost because Karim did not play," Ancelotti told the club's official website.

Real Madrid's Faults

Ancelotti then tried to analyze the location of his team's mistakes so that they could lose to Barcelona in this El Clasico duel.

"Where the fault was we tried to push them a little higher up the pitch and they played from the back really well and after they got the first goal we fought even harder to regain possession."

"We made a strong start but we then really struggled to win the ball back. We took some risks at the back and we struggled overall."
