Growing up, Marco Asensio idolized Real Madrid and wanted to play at the Santiago Bernabeu, even he had a poster of the French legend and El Real, Zinedine Zidane on the wall of his room.
Asensio began his career by joining the Real Malorca Academy. There Asensio's talents continue to be honed and developed. His goal to become a famous footballer also received full support from his mother.
When he was 8 years old, Asensio and his mother accidentally met with the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez in a port. The mother at that time asked for a photo together with the number one real Madrid, and he also had said to Perez that his son would someday be defending Real Madrid.

In 2013, Asensio finally made his professional debut, when he played for Real Malorca B on October 27 in the match against Recreativo de Huelva in the Segunda Division.
In the middle of 2014 Marco Asensio got a surprise from the agent, the agent said that Real Madrid was interested in him. Asensio's neat performance in the previous season did make some big teams smitten, not only Madrid, Barcelona were also interested to bring it.
But at that time, El Real gave a greater offer to Real Malorca than Barca. Asensio who is a Madrid fan did not take long to accept the offer. He signed a six-year contract at a cost of 3.9 million euros, or around Rp 62 billion.
Although Madrid has officially been charged, but Asensio is not immediately a major player. Asensio is still playing for Real Malorca until the end of the 2014/15 season on loan from Madrid. The following season he was loaned to Espanyol. Together with the club based in Cornela El Prat, Asensio scored 4 goals and 12 assists from 37 appearances in all competitions.

Marco Asensio could actually defend the Dutch because he had Dutch blood from his mother. In 2016, the Orange Team supporters made an online campaign with the hashtag #AsensioWillemseninOranje following the Dutch national team's poor performance at the European Cup. At that time, Asensio had never worn a Spanish national team costume at a senior level.
His debut with the senior team occurred on May 29, 2016 during a clash with Switzerland. In the 2018 World Cup, he played in three matches.
